Profile
I am a Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Public International Law at The Dickson Poon School of Law, King’s College London. In addition, I serve as the Associate Director of the Centre for International Governance and Dispute Resolution (CIGAD).
I am interested in the authority and ultimate effect of international law, as well as the processes through which international law is produced and undergoes change. I do so by applying empirical and computational methodologies to both legal argumentation and actor behaviour.

Public International Law
I am a generalist international lawyer with an interest in foundational areas as well as specialised regimes, including international investment law, international human rights law, and the law of the sea.
International Dispute Resolution
Extensive experience with the procedural and substantive practice of international courts and tribunals.
Computational Legal Studies
Pioneering the use of computational techniques to investigate, understand, and model the dynamics of international law.
Practice & Consultancies
I have advised on a broad spectrum of public international law issues, including, inter alia:
- Acting as counsel and advocate for States before international courts and tribunals, including the International Court of Justice.
- Serving as an assistant to arbitrators in investment treaty disputes.
- Providing specialist advice as a legal adviser to States on complex matters of public international law.
- Delivering training and capacity-building to diplomats and other government officials.

Research & Publications
My research on international adjudication, judicial reasoning, and computational law has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals and by major university presses.
